I really like your question, I understand how you feel completely.
But we all know that Christ has made all of us different-unique in our own ways. Some people are good at singing, some people at guitar, ect.
Of course you're going to compare this to the whole world, but the whole world is made out of different people, we're all made to create a world in which we bring our qualities together as one.
But seriously, great question, really got me thinking. (:

Well sin is sin, regardless of what the sin is and they are all the same to God. Be it murder, adultery, lying, stealing, or not honoring your parents, it is a sin and we are thus worthy of being sent to hell. Jesus' death changed that for us. So what I think John is referring to is the story (sorry, I don't know where it is in the Bible) where the men say that they are casting out demons in the name of God, but when they meet God He says He does not know them. Without a relationship with Jesus our actions are usually motivated by our selfish nature. I know I do it a lot, and I have been walking with Him for years.

As for being able to see a change in yourself, sometimes you need to hear it from someone else to really notice it. It takes a lot to change, and it's often subtle at first, just a slight change in how you see things. But the fact that you want to be different from the world is a step in the right direction. You can't fix a problem if you don't admit that it's there. I would say just try to stay positive and think about things before you do them.
